Wandamandala
for Wanda McLenighan
(1907–1999)

Wanda Gawel McLenighan was a woman of formidable character and grace, who loved clothes and dressed elegantly. She was also a thoughtful friend, gracious hostess and amusing companion. Just days before her death, she told her daughter Valjean of a dream in which she was in heaven wearing a turquoise gown and a tiara. This quilted and embroidered interpretation of Wanda's dream was a memorial gift to her daughter on the first anniversary of Wanda's heavenly new wardrobe.
