The Society for Visual Education (SVE) was the company through which I entered multimedia publishing. My last "real job," which I held between 1974 and 1976, was at SVE. I was fortunate to work at the company at an especially exciting time, when SVE's product development department was staffed by an amazingly eccentric bunch of geniuses and subgeniuses, including me, Susan Mahoney, Bob Burleigh, Daniel Quinn, and Jim Robertson, among others. After I began freelancing, I continued to work for the company until it finally succumbed to market pressures in 1995. These days any SVE products remaining on the market can be ordered only through Clearvue/EAV.
